Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair

A respected teacher of the Qurʾān, specialising in Tafsir (exegesis) and word-analysis

Ustadha Taimiyyah Zubair is a respected teacher of the Qurʾān, specialising in Tafsir (exegesis) and word-analysis. She hails from a family deeply rooted in Islamic scholarship: her parents are Dr. Idrees Zubair and Dr. Farhat Hashmi, founders of Al Huda International. From her teens she began studying translation and Tafsir, and since then has continued training in Arabic grammar, Fiqh, Hadith, and related Islamic sciences.

Her work spans both teaching and global outreach. She teaches at Al Huda Institute and is an instructor at AlMaghrib Institute, giving lectures, workshops, and Qurʾān studies both locally (GTA, Canada) and internationally. In addition to her Islamic studies, she is pursuing a degree in the Humanities at the University of Waterloo, supported by a President’s Entrance Scholarship.

In her preaching style and methodology, Ustadha Taimiyyah emphasizes clarity, accessibility, and connection: making the meanings of Qurʾān and Hadith understandable, using the roots of words and their contexts, and ensuring practical relevance in daily life. She is also known for detailed word-for-word translations and commentaries (tafasir) and motivates her listeners to apply what they learn.
