Sheikh Muhammad Bn Uthman

Sheikh Muhammad Bin Uthman was born in Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria, in early 1963 and raised in Kano State. He began his Islamic education early by memorizing the Qur’an under reputed scholars, which laid a strong foundation for his later studies. He later attended Bayero University, Kano, where he earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in History & Political Science. In recognition of his commitment to Islamic scholarship, he also received an Honorary Doctorate in Islamic Theology from the American University in Miami.

In his professional and community roles, Sheikh Bin Uthman serves as the Chief Imam of Sahabah Mosque, Kano, and sits on the Shariah Board of Marble Capital Limited. He is bilingual (Arabic and English) and is known for delivering lecture series, especially Tafseer during Ramadan, both in Nigeria and internationally (including in New York).

In his preaching and Islamic work, Sheikh Bin Uthman emphasizes clarity, relevance, and adherence to the Manhaj of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaʿah. His lectures address both spiritual matters and the everyday challenges Muslims face, inspiring communities toward peace, righteousness, and social harmony. While sometimes his sermons have stirred controversy—as in the recent suspension from leading prayers at Sahaba Mosque—his influence remains strong among his followers.
