Sheikh Dr. Jabir Sani Maihula was born on 3 July 1981 in Sifawa, Sokoto State, Nigeria. From a young age, he was immersed in Islamic studies—learning from his parents, attending makarantun allo, and studying Qur’an, Hadith and the Maliki, Izziya and Ahlari schools. He did his secondary education in Sokoto, then in 1999 was admitted to the Islamic University of Madinah, beginning with a year of Arabic preparatory study. His academic journey includes degrees in Hadith, postgraduate diploma in Islamic law & politics, an LL.M from University of East London, and a PhD from the University of Nottingham.
He serves in several leadership roles: Founder & Director of Imamu Malik Foundation, Sokoto, Head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Sokoto State University, and Chief Imam of Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Jumu’at Mosque, Guiwa Lowcost Sokoto. He has authored and translated works, including Ibn Taymiyya in the Literature of Contemporary Jihadists, and has published books in Hausa and Arabic. He also regularly delivers lectures, tafsir and wa’azi (sermons) across Northern Nigeria and internationally.

He uses social media, live tafsir, public lectures, and educational programs to reach youth and broader Muslim audiences. He teaches on matters of jurisprudence, Aqidah (belief), Islamic law & politics, Sunnah, and addresses issues affecting everyday life—morality, community responsibility, and faithful adherence to Qur’an and Sunnah.
