Maryam Shehu Mohammed is a Nigerian lawyer, philanthropist, and social justice advocate, with strong roots in charitable work and community service. She is the daughter of the late Justice Shehu Mohammed (formerly of the Supreme Court), and she was raised in Kaduna. Her schooling included Sacred Heart Primary School, Kaduna; Federal Government Girls College, Bakori in Katsina state; and later tertiary studies in Law.
Academically, she is (or was) a PhD researcher at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, focusing on issues pertinent to law, social welfare, or public interest work. She participated in leadership programs internationally — such as the Mandela Washington Fellowship (USA), and she’s an Associate Fellow with the Nigeria Leadership Initiative.
In her public life, Maryam “Mymzy” Shehu Mohammed is especially known for her humanitarian efforts. She founded Charity to Cheers Foundation (C2C), using it to deliver support in healthcare, scholarships, and welfare to the less privileged. She balances her legal / offices work with charitable interventions, often leveraging her spare time and networks to run impactful projects. Her personal motivation links back to her childhood, being raised in a home where kindness, integrity, and caring for the needy were deeply instilled.
