Khalil Suleiman Halilu
A Nigerian tech entrepreneur, innovator, and public servant
Khalil Suleiman Halilu (born 29 October 1990, Kano) is a Nigerian tech entrepreneur, innovator, and public servant. He holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration (2009) and a Master’s in International Business (2010) from the University of Hertfordshire, UK.
He is currently the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NASENI (National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure), appointed in September 2023. Before that, he built several ventures: founding/co-founding The CANs Technology Hub (West Africa’s first eco-friendly tech hub), ShapShap (on-demand delivery app), OyaOya (commodity marketplace), Zabe (election monitoring system), among others.
Halilu is driven by the belief that “African problems require African solutions.” Under his leadership NASENI is aiming to accelerate industrialization through technology transfer, innovation, and commercialization. He also contributes via civic, social & community development: his ventures span agriculture, logistics, e-commerce, youth engagement and transparency. He has been recognized with awards for public service leadership and innovation.
