Sheikh Assim Al-Hakeem

Sheikh Assim Al-Hakeem was born on 23 November 1962 in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. His family moved to Jeddah when he was about 12 years old. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from King Abdulaziz University (1987) and later completed a High Diploma in Islamic Studies at Umm al-Qura University in Makkah in 1998. He also studied under the great scholar Shaykh Salih Ibn Uthaymeen, among others.

Professionally, Sheikh Assim has served for many years as an Imam in Jeddah, leading Friday sermons and teaching various Islamic sciences. He also began his working life as an English teacher in high school, later engaging in roles in HR and public relations. He frequently appears on Islamic radio and television, and has become particularly known for his Q&A sessions and online lectures in both English and Arabic.

In his preaching, Sheikh Assim emphasizes a return to the Qur’an and Sunnah, clear understanding of Islamic law (fiqh), and providing practical guidance for Muslims in daily life. He hosts programs such as Ask Huda, Umdatul Ahkaam, Mercy to the Worlds, Youth Talk, among others. He is popularly known for his directness, often using analogies and answering questions plainly and with sarcasms.
